Partnership to offer legal support for customers and provide assessment centre for those in collisions and wanted to get back on their bike

Condor teams up with cycling law firm

London’s Condor Cycles has partnered with law firm Leigh Day & Co to provide a service for its customers.

Leigh Day & Co is already exclusively retained by British Cycling and the British Triathlon Federation to provide legal advice to the membership of both.

The firm offers a ‘by cyclists – for cyclists’ service for riders. The partnership will mean Condor’s customers are made aware of their rights on the road and are fully protected following a collision that isn’t their fault.

Clients of the law firm will be referred to Condor’s assessment centre, which aims to get people who have suffered in a collision to get back on their bikes. Condor said it can cater for the most seriously injured who may need adaptations to their bikes to enable them to ride again.

Head of the Cycling team at Leigh Day & Co Penny Knight said: “We are very confident that following the Olympics the ‘Wiggo effect’ is making a big difference to people’s attitudes. Lots of cyclists are reporting that rather than being beeped and jeered at by motorists they are more likely to be asked where their sideburns are.

“However the roads do need to be made safe, not just safer, and that means that cars and bikes need to co-exist and cycling must become integral to city and road planning for everyone’s benefit.”

Grant Young, Condor Cycles MD, added: “No matter the value of the bicycle, a Condor is special to each and every one of our customers. Bicycles that have been involved in collisions must be fully assessed.

“We’ve worked with steels and other materials since 1948 and know the tell tale signs of trauma and stress on a bicycle frame and components that must be identified to avoid further incidents and also to ensure the rider is provided with the right product to continue their sport and favoured activity.

“We are confident of the cycling knowledge and experience Leigh Day & Co have in this field and excited about the partnership and service they can offer to Condor riders.

“In the past we’ve been contacted by solicitors working for our customers who have asked to know ‘the engine size of the bike! Leigh Day’s cycling team are keen cycling enthusiasts and understand what can happen on the road and all the facets of bicycle ownership.”

In other Condor news, the Rapha Condor Sharp pro team will be riding at the forthcoming Tour of Britain, which starts on September 9th. Condor is also a BikeBiz Awards 2012 Finalist
