CJ Performance Cycles has moved its Newcastle Upon Tyne operation to a larger premises.
The new space, which was chosen due to its much larger floor space, is just 200 yards from the old premises, and features improved parking for those visiting by car. The shop is now located below the Ringtons Tea offices, and once acted as the brand’s storage hold.
The team has recently welcomed on board a new manager, who was tasked with the jobs of getting the space in-shape, with the complete move and redesign taking just three months, including the installation of a brand new bike fitting area and custom build workshop.
Online business has also been a central factor in the expansion of the CJ Performance Cycles business. As staff member Stacey Mayhew told BikeBiz: “The online business has just started to take off. We are now delivering across the UK, after a few teething problems with our internal and ecommerce system which we’ve had for a year is now working for us. Lots of hard work and many hours have gone into getting it working correctly and just a small team are managing it currently. The idea would be for one to two members of staff to solely look after this section of the business. If the sales continue then this is where the business will be changing through growth.”
