Duo arrive on bike-powered sofa to launch traffic-free ride

Chris Hoy and Lorraine Kelly team up for SkyRide Glasgow

Thousands of cyclists took to the streets of Scotland’s largest city this weekend for Skyride Glasgow.

The ride was the latest in a series of Sky and British Cycling-led events encouraging people to get on bikes, with rides taking place on car-free streets across Britain’s cities.

Cycle Olympian Sir Chris Hoy opened the event with TV presenter Lorraine Kelly, both arriving on a cycle-powered sofa.

Evans Cycles, Adidas, Gatorade and Drench all attended the event. The current Miss Scotland and other celebs also took part in the 8.1km traffic-free ride.
