Zhang Peisheng, secretary general of the China Chamber of Commerce for the Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (would love to see his business card), said the European Union's decision to increase the dumping tax on Chinese-made bicycles will lead "to the gradual decrease of China's bicycle export."

China will export less bikes to EU, says Chinese official

If this were to come about, it would be a victory for Brian Montgomery’s European Bicycle Manufacturers’ Assocation. It was his org which has been pushing for the anti-dumping duty to be reimposed and increased.

Peisheng’s comments were quoted on Beijing News earlier today.

Since 1992 the EU has imposed dumping duties on imports of bicycles from China at the rate of 30.6 percent. The duty was increased to 48.5 percent earlier this month and extended for a further five years.
