230 guests - plus visitors watching via webcams - will be able to bid for the unique items in the Singletrack charity auction to be held at the awards bash at Islington's Cycle 2003 expo. Items donated so far include a pair of Bontrager wheels ridden by Lance in the Tour de France, a Mint Sauce painting and a signed Steve Peat race jersey. All proceeds go to Cancer Research UK.

Charity auction seeks one-offs from the trade

"Ideally we are looking for the collectable type of stuff that you can’treally pin an RRP to," said Singletrack’s online editor, Mark Alker.

"Signed stuff is good. As are one-offs and really rare stuff. Or anything that will grab the attention of the sell out crowd that will be attending the awards."

Over 5000 votes have been cast so far in the awards, which take place on 24th September at the Cycle 2003 Show at the Business Design Centre in London.
