Planet X Bikes of Sheffield has appointed Barry Dunn as its first chief operating officer. Dunn was formerly head of operations at Chain Reaction Cycles and has also held senior roles with Halfords and Argos.
"I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to work with a brand that I’d admired for some time," said Dunn.
"Their product and innovation is excellent and hopefully with the help of a few experienced individuals we can achieve something very special at Planet X."
David Hanney, chief executive officer of Planet X said: “Barry is a first class operator, a passionate cyclist, with a great experience of growing businesses. He joins us at a very exciting time as we have had a very strong start to 2013 and are look forward to opening our second store in Barnsley."
Consumer direct Planet X was founded in in 1987 and has 50 employees. Its brands include Planet X, OnOne and Titus.
