June was a flop for all retailers (aside from those selling umbrellas) but the figures in July picked up a touch

CBI reports higher retail sales in July

The latest distributive trades survey from the CBI shows 47 percent of retailers reported increased sales volumes in July, while 23 percent reported falls. This left a positive balance of 24, an improvement on June’s 15.

However, the CBI said the latest data suggest the pace of retail sales growth is slackening and that sales in August will be no better than average.
