Californian hydration brand beefs up backpacks, makes new reservoir shape for lumbar packs.

CamelBak unveils redesigned bags and lumbar reservoir

UCI calls ’em ‘Camelbacks’ and restricts their use beneath the jerseys of road pros because of claimed aerodynamic advantages but, at PressCamp in Utah, CamelBak displayed the 2013 MTB bags range.

The full range of packs has been redesigned, with new features, new colours and a new 3-litre Antidote lumbar hydration pack which packs weight lower down.

The new bladder fits in the new Volt pack.

CamelBak has added low-profile integrated helmet carrier buckles to all its packs. The company has also redesigned the straps on its womens’ packs to be more curved to accommodate a woman’s shape. New NV models all have a new "integrated ventilation" back with four horizontal foam pads that keeps as much of the pack as possible off the rider’s back.

The new packs will be available in January.
