The wildly popular Outdoor Demo, the get-on-a-bike day for staffers attending Interbike, Las Vegas, has outgrown the one-man-and-his-horse Blue Diamond and is moving to Bootleg Canyon, Boulder City, Nevada. The Outdoor Demo attracts 4000 trade visitors and is well worth the trip to Las Vegas.

Bye-bye Blue Diamond. Hello Bootleg Canyon.

Bootleg Canyon is 23 miles southeast of Las Vegas and overlooks Lake Mead.

Held one day prior to the opening of the expo, the OutDoor Demo provides retailers and media a chance to test ride the bikes and it they’ll see at the trade show proper. Last year there were 115 exhibitors.

The Outdoor Demo has been held at Blue Diamond since 1998 but the event is now too big for such a small community to handle.

"In order to have an event that better embraces the entire industry, we felt it was time to relocate to a more appropriate venue," said Lance Camisasca, Interbike show director.

"The layout of Bootleg Canyon allows us to have an expanded exhibit area with more resources and better facilities at our fingertips. Bootleg Canyon offers an extensive network of mountain bike trails and there is a freshly paved road loop that will be closed to vehicular traffic. The site also offers riding opportunities in and around the exhibit area that are more suitable to the BMX, comfort, recumbent and other product categories."

Bootleg Canyon is also home to a designated IMBA Epic trail.
