British rider's Paris-Nice performance sees his odds cut of winning TdF

Bradley Wiggins third favourite to win Tour de France, says Ladbrokes

Ladbrokes’ latest betting has placed Bradley Wiggins as third favourite to win this year’s Tour de France.

Following his Paris-Nice triumph, the bookies have placed 9/2 odds on Wiggins winning out in the biggest bike race on the planet.

Who’s favourite? Unsurprisingly last year’s winner, Cadel Evans, leads the betting at 7/4, followed closely by Andy Schleck at 3/1.

And despite the crowning of the 2012 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award being nine months away, Ladbrokes has also given odds on Wiggins’ chances of winning the sports prize. Odds have been cut to 12/1 (from 14/1) for Wiggins to pick up the award, while Olympic track and field athlete Jessica Ennis remains a favourite at 6/1.
