London Mayor says "London's hire scheme will be the 'Rolls Royce' of bike hire."

Boris peddling cycling in Copenhagen

Boris Johnson has flown out to the Copenhagen Climate summit to meet with the Mayors of various cities worldwide – and it appears that our cycling-mad Mayor is already touting cycling as the way forward for cities worldwide.

Posting on Twitter over the past few days, the mayor has told his followers: "I told the summit Paris’ Velib is great, but ours (London’s) will be the Rolls Royce of bike hire schemes."

Johnson has also today announced 25,000 electric car charge points are to appear in London by 2015.

For the latest direct from Boris himself, folllow the Mayor here.
