Boardman re-structures future investment plans

Boardman will focus future investment on its performance centre, according to a new statement released by the brand.

The statement reads: “Over the last few months we have taken the decision to rationalise our supported athlete portfolio, reinvesting these costs into product R&D and our soon to launch Performance Centre with attainable cycling specific wind tunnel that aims to make everyone faster and not just a handful of supported athletes.

“Boardman bikes has always been known for offering exceptional performance and incredible value, it’s part of our brand values and commitment to our customers and is as important now as it has ever been.

“Boardman Bikes would like to take this opportunity to thank both Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee and wish them both every success in the years to come as they continue to dominate their sport. The boys have been with us from the start and been the perfect brand ambassadors and triathlon role models while dominating all aspects of their sport by winning all major titles on-board Boardman bikes.”

The new 18,000 square foot facility – which received planning permission in late December 2016 – will feature the brand’s head office, a cycle-specific wind tunnel, a physiology testing suite and an activity testing area. The site is currently set to open in winter 2017.
