'Demand for Skyway is soaring'

BMX popularity exceeding the ’80s, says Avocet

Avocet Sports has told BikeBiz that the popularity of BMX product this year is exceeding the demand seen for the sector in the 1980s.

In particular, Skyway-equipped BMX bikes in Avocet’s Piranha and Rooster ranges have seen demand rocket, with sales up 35 per cent compared to last year.

This year Skyway has seen sales 15 per cent up on the height of the 1980s, according to the California-made brand.

Skyway TUFF 11 wheels are leading the brand’s popularity, Avocet revealed.

"Dealers are prepared to pay that little bit extra for these quality wheels and are tired of all the problems of warping, etc, that other mag wheels suffer from," Avocet’s Wayne Clarke told Bikebiz.

"We believe that Skyway are the only mag wheels to meet the new EN standards on tolerances."
