The Bike Week website has published details of the 2014 events. (Only one event is organised by a bike shop).

Bike Week events go live

The smartphone- and tablet-friendly website for Bike Week 2014 has now published the first listing of events. More than 150 have been listed, with only one of them being an event organised by a bike shop.

The "week" is staged 14th to 22nd June but Bike Week events are already being staged, and continue to be staged until September. Event organisers benefit from free third-party insurance. Traditionally bike shops say June is the worst possible time for them to be organising events, but not even bike shop rides are listed as Bike Week events (which would be a quick and easy bit of extra publicity).

Bike Week was first staged in 1923, by the Cyclists’ Touring Club. 500,000 or so people take part in Bike Week events each year.
