Fake shop order thwarted by shrewd staffers

Bike thieves fail to fool Moore Large

Moore Large told BikeBiz that it has today (Friday March 8th) been targeted by bike thieves attempting to steal 16 Haro BMXs.

The Derby distributor received a call from someone claiming to be a customer, giving a shop name but no account number. The caller ordered 16 Haro BMXs – they had part codes – and said that they would send their own courier to collect them this afternoon.

The distributor rung the customer back and the store had not ordered any bikes.

The police are currently investigating the theft attempt.

Moore Large is urging other bike businesses to be wary of similar attempts.
