Hardest fought awards yet see 11 winners take home 13 prizes

Bike industry stars shine at 2011 trade awards

An array of companies took home key accolades at tonight’s BikeBiz Awards.

Honouring the bicycle industry, there were 11 winners of the 13 awards in the most competitive cycle trade awards yet.

The 2011 BikeBiz Awards themselves saw 200 industry executives from retail, distribution, manufacturing, PR and marketing gather at the Hilton Metropole at the NEC, Birmingham to celebrate the industry’s high achievers.

Madison and Evans Cycles were the big winners on the night, walking home with two awards each. Madison scored the Parts and Accessories Distributor and the key award of Distributor of the Year prizes, while Evans Cycles won the High Street Chain and Retail Workshop Awards.

Cycling Sports Group UK won Bike Distributor, while Brompton and Knog picked up the Bike Brand and P&A Brand award respectively.

The levy-funded Bike Hub cycle satnav smartphone app won the Best Retail Initiative award. 

Cycling Plus and Road.cc scooped the media awards, while Rutland Cycles and Wiggle hovered up the remaining awards.

Electra Bicycles is Premium Partner for the 2011 BikeBiz Awards. This year’s Events Partners were Koga Bicycles, Citrus-Lime and Cycle-SOS.

Alienation Digital handed a prize of case of wine and a free digital marketing audit of their website after winner a prize draw on the night.
