Popular programme delves into the 'bike in a box' for November 5th show

BBC Watchdog to tackle the BSO

BBC consumer affairs programme, Watchdog is set to tackle the flat-pack bike in a box on its show due to be broadcast at 8pm on November 5th. (this thursday)

The show follows the progress of five regular cyclists as they build and ride five ‘bikes in a box’ bought from Asda, Toy’s r Us, Tesco, Halfords and Argos.

The show is to be hosted by Radio 4’s John Humpries. John Stevenson of Future Publishing’s cycling portfolio will also be on hand to oversee the bike building, as will South Coast Bikes’ Paul Topham. Both will provide a commentary of the builds in progress.

The BBC denied the ACT a slot on the show, citing potential legal issues as the Association represents a vested interest. There is however, a chance that a link to Mark Brown’s BSO blog may feature on the Watchdog website following the show.

The Watchdog website is keen to here from those who have Bicycle Shaped Object experience and is requesting those with thoughts on the topic contact them here.
