Avocet unveils Ryedale, new ladies’ bike brand

Avocet, one of Britain’s biggest bike distributors, has unveiled Ryedale, its new brand available exclusively to independent bike dealers.

The traditionally-styled Ryedale range is aimed at casual female riders and is the perfect blend of classic and contemporary design. The bikes come in four different styles: Holly, Harper, Harriet and Harlow, and in a range of appealing colours, such as peppermint, blueberry, latte and candyfloss.

Featuring a traditional low step-over top tube, Ryedale bikes boast a range of aesthetic and practical design features. These include a fully lined front full wicker basket, colour co-ordinated front and rear mudguards and carriers, double wall rims with shaded tyres, non-slip pedals and a pump. Add the fitting of aluminium componentry to round off the quality offering. Each bike comes with a ladies’ sprung saddle and sweeping handlebars, enabling the rider to adopt a natural, relaxed riding position.

Avocet supports the independent dealer market with a range of branded products, whilst also supplying leading retail chains mostly with own-label products. Last year, Hero Cycles, the world’s largest bicycle maker by volume, acquired a majority interest in Avocet.

“The Ryedale range is part of our commitment to independent bike dealers,” said Steven Walsh, Chairman at Avocet. “Our strategy is to supply them with what their customers want. With the Ryedale range, we feel are providing a quality, reliable and stylish lifestyle product that hits the mark with that sector of the market.”
