It's been widely reported on the internet that Lance Armstrong's US Postal team has not been ratified for racing in 2004 by the UCI. On lancearmstrong.com, USPS directeur sportif Johan Bruyneel said the problem was an administrative one, not a cash crisis. The UCI has extended the ratification deadline to January 8th.

Armstrong team registration scare is a “paperwork” problem

"We had some delay with the paperwork, mainly because of the late leaving of Roberto Heras, and then getting Jose Azevedo, and the complicated contract issues related to this," Bruyneel told lancearmstrong.com.

"It’s getting fixed."

As well as US Postal, the registration is still pending on Alessio-Bianchi, Domina Vacanze, Fassa Bortolo, Kelme-Costa Blanca and Milaneza Maia.
