UK-based innovation newcomer ArmaUrto has announced a partnership with trainSharp Cycle Coaching UK, to supply protective road cycle wear as part of trainSharp’s coaching programme.
trainSharp founder Jon Sharples said: “As a coaching company, we are committed to improving the safety of all cyclists on the road. Helmets can protect the head. Until now there has been nothing available to protect the limbs. We are extremely happy to partner with ArmaUrto who are the leaders and innovators in road cycling body protection.”
trainSharp will retail the ArmaUrto range in its East Sussex centre of excellence studios. The brand has said the partnership will “revolutionise how coached riders can benefit from wearing protection with the aim of keeping the asset (the rider) in the saddle, therefore, offering continued not uninterrupted levels of fitness following a crash or fall. This unique offering and range of apparel were previously unavailable.”
ArmaUrto garments are pro-rider design influenced for maximum comfort and performance, and each garment incorporates impact protection (ARMA) for critical areas (shoulder, elbow, hip and hand) in the event of a crash or fall. They are combined with anti-abrasion fabrics.
Protection through innovation (wearable tech), each Italian made garment contains impact protection pads (ARMA) that are EN1621-1 accredited (motorcycle standard) for impact and dimension. Sub 4mm thick, each protective pad upon impact immediately freezes and dissipates the impact energy across the protective pad. Post impact, the pads unfreeze to offer repeat protection should a further fall or crash happen. The protective pads are temperature stable from minus 20 degrees to plus 40 degrees.
ArmaUrto founder and director Chris Battin said: “As a company of safety-conscious bike riders, we all have a personal connection to the products and to independent retail, four years ago this is how we started on our journey. The cycle industry is changing rapidly, and to address this we want to be able to contribute positively and add value to the success of the best specialist retailers in the business.
“Now that we are offering this unique direct opportunity to independent retail, I believe we are giving these stores the best chance we can for them to flourish and add value to their offering with our direct programme.”
The ArmaUrto dealer direct programme is available immediately for IBDs.
ArmaUrto will be joined by trainSharp for the trade day at this year’s NEC Cycle Show on September 12th.
