So, time to think about the following issue. As well as majoring on road bikes, the May issue will be checking out whether the UK is going to sneeze now that the USA has a cold.
Raleigh dealers can now choose to become Cyclelife dealers, buying into a franchise that ships with Raleigh’s bike and P&A brands.
At the Giant dealer conference earlier this week, IBDs signed up for the new Giant In Store programme – a way of getting lots of great-looking bike POS stands and signage – but Giant MD Ian Beasant stressed the programme wasn’t a franchise nor would it take over an IBD’s whole shop ("unless that’s what you want.")
Will other IBD-only brands be aiming to gain more exposure in ‘retail partner’ shops? Will UK IBDs want to minimise the ‘I’ in order to strengthen the ‘BD’?
