Android version of the industry-owned Bike Hub app has been updated with full satnav, routing cyclists on roads and bike paths.

Android app updated with voice & vibrate satnav feature

The app is free and can be found in the Android Marketplace.

Bike Hub is the UK bicycle industry’s levy fund, and administered by the Bicycle Association.

The Bike Hub app was developed for iPhones first. The Android version of the app was released just before Christmas but was a stripped back version of the iPhone app. Now both apps have the same functionality.

Users of the first version of the Android app have been overwhelmingly positive. ‘Malcolm’ said it was "Simply brilliant." ‘Max’ said "Brilliant! Works well in Edinburgh."

Both the iPhone and Android apps also direct users to bike shops: proximity sensors work out nearest dealers, with the original shop list provided by the Association of Cycle Traders.
