The 5000-mile National Cycle Network opens in June. The Official Guidebook comes out in May...and IBDs should stock this title, it will get their customers out on their bikes more

AMENDED: Book for new bikers

Sustrans will soon publish a 256-page guidebook to the National Cycle Network. It will be available by May and has been co-written by route guide guru Nick Cotton and the director of Sustrans, John Grimshaw.

Divided into geographical chapters, the guide will be illustrated with hundreds of colour photographs and supported by Ordnance Survey and A-Z based mapping. The guide includes 30 one-day rides, traffic-free route suggestions and advice on safe cycling with children as well as details of long distance holiday routes.

The ten quid guide will be excellent fodder for getting new customers out on their bikes, encouraging them to ride further afield. It will be available at a discount for the trade, call the AA Trade sales orderline on 01206 255678.
