A-class, the wheelbrand of Alex Rims has launched ten new models for 2009. All of the new aftermarket models use brand new Aclass hubs developed for both off-road MTB and Road styles. Design company 5th Dimension added their knowledge to the Aclass builds.
MTB highlights include:
VXD1 – Ultralight
With a weight of only 1350g, the VXD1 wheelset from AClass jumps into the toplevel of ultralight wheelsets. This is enabled by using new Scandium rims with a weight of only 300g per piece. 32 Aero spokes for the front and rear wheel offer best performance and strength. In the beginning, the wheelset will be available with a six-hole IS standard hub only, a Centerlock Version will follow later this season.
VXD3/VXC3 – Cross Country Disc
The model VXD3 (Disc) and VXC3 (V-Brake) are developed as XC All-round wheelsets. The rims are 23mm wide and have 24 spokes. These wheels are premier choice if you’re looking for light and strong wheels. The weight of the V-Brake version will be 1530g the disc version with Centerlock hub will be 1650g. A nice exclusive detail, beside the gold anodized rims, is the hidden non-visible nipples. The Disc version will be delivered with six-hole IS adapter.
VED3 – Enduro Disc
The new Centerlock hubs, 28mm welded rims and 28 spokes are assembled to an extremely rigid unit. Light and strong enough to ride simple Freeride trails. The VED3 will be available with new 15mm and standard 20mm, an six-hole IS adapter will be included. The weight of the wheelset will be 1900g.
