Pearson is the oldest bicycle business in the world. In its recent expansion, Pearson now has an online business which supports the bricks and mortar stores and sells worldwide with a growing market in the US and Japan. As a member of the Pearson retail team, you will serve as an ambassador of the Pearson brand and help us uphold our commitment to providing exemplary customer service and brand experience at our retail stores. The primary responsibility of the Store Manager is to provide leadership and direction to the store team members and successfully achieve company goals. This person will ensure optimal staffing levels through recruitment, education and motivating the Pearson team who in turn will impact the store performance. They will ultimately be setting an example of quality customer service and engagement. The Store Manager will be expected to execute company strategies through maximizing store profitability. They will have control over store expenses, protecting company assets, and managing overall store standards and processes for customer service excellence, merchandise & inventory, retail operations and ensuring team participation is consistent and well managed. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day operations of the team, providing individual and group coaching, organize and lead staff meetings, briefings, performance reviews and ensuring that all company policies and procedures are being followed Store sales management: achieve store sales targets, maximize store sales and profitability Monitor and maintain customer service excellence and ensure staff are providing quality shopping experience in-store Coach and mentor team in all areas of customer service and engagement, ensuring product and brand history knowledge is up to date and accurate Responsible for recruiting team, attracting talent, maintaining succession plan and developing a high-performing team Partner with the directors to set performance goals for the team to encourage personal development, addressing performance issues, facilitating disciplinary actions and terminating employees when necessary Ensure compliance with employee record keeping policies and procedures for any HR/Payroll requirements according to company standards and policies Responsible for achieving all financial and operational objectives including expense control, loss prevention, store inventory audits, and reporting to senior management as required Support in the organisation of in-store marketing events and pro-actively grow professional relationships to increase brand awareness and drive traffic Ensuring visual merchandising standards are upheld, direct and implement merchandising allocation, assortment and replenishment. Model professional behaviour as an example to the team whilst promoting a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and creativity Personal qualities & qualifications Minimum 5 years experience in retail with a minimum of 2 years’ experience at an Assistant Manager or Manager level Experience in a speciality retail environment is preferred Proven ability to meet and exceed sales and profit results, with strong business acumen Proven ability to meet business goals through driving results in store Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to display good leadership qualities, enthusiasm to motivate and drive a team Highly detail-oriented and excellent organisational skills Proficiency in Google Suite office applications and knowledge of Epos systems, good mathematical literacy Ability to prioritise workload efficiently and able to work on a flexible schedule To apply for this role then please email your CV through to care@pearson1860.com
