With immediate effect 2×2 Worldwide has become the UK distributor for Australian brand Reid Bikes.
The brand has had a steep trajectory having launched just six years ago with a wide range of bikes serving the road, MTB, hybrid, vintage and fixie markets, among others.
Reid Bikes first launched into the UK with stock earlier this year.
Scott Hillyard, Sales Director for 2×2 Worldwide, said: “We are constantly looking to improve and expand our portfolio of products we offer in the UK but will only do so when the right product and as importantly, partner come along.
"The Reid range of bikes have been on the radar for a number of years now, and their recent foray into the UK market shows how well the brand fits – it is absolutely relevant and perfectly designed for the rapidly growing and strategically important markets most IBD are currently working within.
"Reid are doing things the right way, not only do they come with an excellent pedigree they are designing bikes from the ground up and with components you would normally only see on bikes in much higher price brackets. With great bikes, and as importantly great margins and availability, we hope to continue the year on year growth Reid have experienced and add our own distribution experience to the mix."
Rob Akam, International Sales Manager for Reid Bikes, added: “We are really pleased to be partnering with such a passionate and dedicated team in the UK. We gave the brand a good footprint in a short period of time and have some great relationships with our retailers. We recognised that to further grow this network of IBDs selling Reid, without affecting service levels to our current group, we needed to expand our team or partner with an experienced distributor. We chose to go down the distributor route so that we can really focus on the brand and model development. When we met with 2X2 we immediately knew that they were right for our brand and look forward to offering more and more retailers the ability to get involved with Reid.”
