Welcome to stardate Y2K+1. Far from exploring the outer reaches of the galaxy or colonising the moon, we can't even get our trains to run on time. Or run at all. But soon, fellow bikebiz bods, all of the back-to-work 21st Century blues will be banished with the thud of B3 landing on your mats

2001: An ad-space odyssey

Er, but it’s going to be a wee bit later than published in the December magazine. I’d love to be able to say this was because the wire-o-binding is holding the job up but it’s not.

Well, not yet anyway. I didn’t get time over the festive break to do a jot of work (three kids under 3.5 take a lot of entertaining)!

Not even the B3 database is the up-to-date one yet. This is imminent though.

The BikeBizBible will be designed this week and the first two days of next week and will then take 14 days to print, ring-bind and send out. Sorry for the delay but as the British bike trade cannot sustain a trade magazine with loads of staff (this isn’t America, you know, across there taking adverts in trade mags is second nature) it’s up to me to write and design a mag, do three stories a day for the website and edit and design a free trade directory.

The Jan mag will be out by the third week of Jan, with the bumper show issue of BicycleBusiness out in the middle of February. Show exhibitors should start getting their text and product pix to us, and if anybody wants to take last-minute ad space in the bonzo trade directory that will go free to 2500 trade addresses (produced by the founder of The Cyclists’ Sourcebook, which, in the good old days, also used to be sent out free) call Al on 0191 285 4408 ASAP.
