Wouldn't you just love to say 'on yer bike' to the taxman! Well, that's what Jim McGurn is doing (and to taxwomen, too). 'Get Cycling', McGurn's 16-page cycling-taster magazine, is soon to be placed on the desks of all 14 000 workers at the Newcastle on Tyne inland revenue and pensions office. And there's to be a taxman-specific bicycle try-out day as well...

14 000 tax workers to be exposed to pro-bike message

All positive stuff, and quite clearly needed because, out of the 14 000 workers, only 40 currently cycle to work.

McGurn’s Company of Cyclists has been commissioned to stage a bike try-out day on 12th June. It’s for the tax workers only. And the day before, the try-out session will have been wheeled out at Newcastle’s Freeman hospital in order to attract staff there to think bike.
