People from key European and US firms may have stayed away because of SARS (or were using SARS as an excuse because of travel fatique and earlier-in-the-year trips to Taiwan) but figures release by CETRA, the show organiser, reveal that the overall number of overseas visitors was roughly the same as last year. The same cannot be said for domestic visitors.

This year there were just 15 763 visitors, 2110 of them from overseas.

In 2002, 792 visitors hailed from Europe. This year there were 448 from Europe

In 2002, there were 389 visitors from North America. This year there were 380 Americans.
